Hi-vis vests: yellow or orange

Yellow or orange? Both are bright, and both are easy to spot. The right choice depends on where you stand.

Here is how to think about it.

Think about the background

A color stands out more when it is different from what is behind it. Against green trees, orange can stand out.

Against a gray road, yellow often does. You can see the Oil and Fuel Spill Kit Bag for the details.

Think about the light

Day, dusk and night all look different.

Reflective strips help in headlights, whatever the color.

Our vest

The Hi-Vis Vest Two Pack comes in yellow or orange, in M/L or XL/XXL.

It is a polyester mesh vest with reflective strips, sold as a two pack.

A note

Our vest is not sold as an ANSI or OSHA rated vest. If your work asks for a rated vest, check what it needs.

This gear does not replace any equipment, training or paperwork your work or local rules require.

Sizing and storage

Vests come as M/L or XL/XXL. The vest has an open front and a hook and loop strap. Check your chest size, and think about the jacket you wear over it. If you share the pack with someone, pick a size that suits you both.

The pack has two vests and costs $19. Keep one in the cab and one by the garage door, or pass one to a friend. Hand wash cool and air dry. All sales are final, so check the color and size in the options before you order.

Questions and answers

Can I mix a yellow and an orange?

The two pack comes in one color, so choose one color per pack.
