Garage tidy: where to store road gear
3 min read · ADR Gear

Gear is only useful if you can find it. A little order in the garage means no hunting when you need something.
Here are simple storage ideas.
Hooks for bags
A strong hook by the door holds a zip bag like the Oil and Fuel Spill Kit Bag.
Keep it at a height you can reach.
A shelf for chocks
Chocks are heavy.
Put the Rubber Wheel Chock Pair on a low shelf by the door, with the rope handle facing out.
A flat spot for mats
Store the Neoprene Drain Cover Mat rinsed and dry.
Keep it flat or rolled on a shelf, where it is easy to grab.
Label it
A bit of tape and a marker makes a shelf easy to read.

A weekend plan
Spend half an hour on it. Clear a shelf, put up two hooks and lay down a bit of tape for labels. Move everything for emergencies to the same corner, and keep daily tools elsewhere.
The bag is $49, the chocks are $39 and the mat is $39. Shipping is free over $75, so a bag and a pair of chocks reach that. Keep the rope handle of the chocks facing out, and keep heavy things low. Browse all vehicle and trailer gear.
